Dear BBB:

Although I am aware that "compliments" about a business instead of complaints aren't exactly your bailiwick, when one business is so incredibly outstanding in honesty and integrity, I'd like it on the record.

THE PLOT: My car, choosing Walmart's parking lot on a hot Friday afternoon for its recalcitrant behaviour, would not go into gear because of a safety feature which locks the transmission to prevent children from inadvertently causing motion to begin. Rather than call the trow truck then, I opted to walk home and find a place to effect the needd repair. I chose to think about the problem a few hours but the man-of-action I married about 30 years ago immediately started calling transmission companies from listings in the yellow pages. The reactions varied from "This number is no longer in service" to "Hmmmm. It's probably gonna be expensive. We'll have to check lots of things." By Saturday, I had decided to check with you folks first, choose a nearby place and begin to learn more.

THE HERO: Circle D Transmission located @ 13706 Hempstead Road is open weekdays only but had a website and email address. Sooo ... I emailed with the problem, asking for a plan to have car towed to them on Monday. They toodled into their biz later that day and called me! It seems there is a way to just safely bypass the problem and make the car work as designed! NO CHARGE! I WALKED BACK TO MY CAR AND IT IS 100% OK! NEVER AGAIN SHOULD WE DISMISS THE "NEW" ADAGE ..."Don't just phone it in!" Phoning in that solution was FANTASTIC!

THE FINALE: Their behaviour is a level of honesty and integrety that needs to be more than just mentioned in passing. Maybe as y'all are tweaking your new evaluation system, "good news" can be included (for whatever it is worth -- I understand the pitfalls). I know only that the phrase "honest auto repair place" is as close to an oxymoron as is help@microsoft.com or "quality service cable TV", but Circle D Transmission is just such a place. And I haven't spent a dime with them!
